CCPIT Chairperson Gao Yan met Eni’s Executive Vice President of International Affairs Lapo Pistelli on June 21 at Eni headquarters in Rome, Italy.

Gao Yan said, during President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Italy in March this year, the two countries signed the memorandum of understanding on jointly promoting the Belt and Road construction, charting the course for the  economic and trade cooperation between China and Italy, especially the third-party market cooperation. Confronted with the problem of global climate change, we should adjust the traditional fossil fuel energy structure, which is also in line with China’s green development philosophy.

“Since last year, China has put in place multiple policies and measures for further open-up in efforts to improve business environment and attract foreign investment, creating more opportunities for foreign companies like Eni. CCPIT is willing to provide all-round services for Eni including business meetings, commercial and legal services, helping Eni take root in the Chinese market, expand presence in China and contribute to the growth of China-Italy economic and trade relations,” added Gao.

Pistelli said, Eni is Italy’s largest energy company with business covering the exploration, marketing and chemical engineering of oil and natural gas as well as renewable energy, recycling economy and ecological economy, etc. Eni hopes to expand business in China, take part in the third-party cooperation and increase contact and cooperation with CCPIT to seek more business partners in China.
