CCPIT Chairperson Gao Yan met Vice Chairman of Confindustria Mattioli in Rome, Italy on June 20. The two sides exchanged opinions on the current international situations, promoting China-Italy economic and trade cooperation, increasing B20 cooperation and deepening cooperation between the two organizations.
Gao Yan said, President Xi Jinping’s successful state visit to Italy in March provided a blueprint and pointed out the way forward for the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership, opening a new era of China-Italy bilateral relations and cooperation.
“China and Italy are highly complementary in economy and cooperation. And the cooperation is developing in a fast pace between companies from the two sides in goods and service trade, two-way investment and production capacity. CCPIT is willing to work together with Confindustria to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, helping Italy participate into Belt and Road construction and enhancing the growth of the bilateral economic and trade relations. CCPIT is delighted to support Italy’s rotating presidency of G20 in 2021, and encourage the Chinese business community to take part in B20 cooperation and promote the international trade and investment liberalization and facilitation,” added Gao.
Mattioli said, since the visit by President Xi Jinping in March, there have been increasing economic and trade cooperation opportunities between the two countries under the Belt and Road framework, much has been achieved.
“China and Italy are able to deal with the rise of unilateralism and protect multilateralism by working together. Confindustria is willing to continue facilitating Italian companies in increasing economic and trade cooperation with China, including expanding exports to China and support SMEs,” added Mattioli.
Also present at the meeting were heads of CCPIT Department of Development Research and Department of International Relations.
