Gao Yan, Chairperson of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), attended and addressed the San Marino- China Trade and Investment Cooperation Forum at the Embassy of San Marino in Italy on June 21. Andrea Zafferani, San Marino’s Minister of Industry, Antonella Mularoni, Vice President of San Marino’s Economic Development Agency-Chamber of Commerce, and Daniela Rotondaro, San Marino’s Ambassador to Italy, also attended the forum and delivered speeches.
Gao Yan spoke highly of the fruitful cooperation between China and San Marino in trade, investment, tourism and culture since the establishment of the diplomatic ties, and introduced new progress in the Belt and Road construction and China’s new measures to further open to the world.
“I suggest that China and San Marino should further tap the growth potential of bilateral trade, strengthen cooperation in tourism, and deepen specialized financial services,” added Gao. Gao Yan’s remarks sparked heated discussion among the participants and were well received from them.
Rotondaro said that San Marino maintains good relations with China and hoped to enhance the cooperation between the two countries in economy, trade, culture and tourism.
Zafferani said, San Marino is a gateway to the European market and offers preferential policies on taxes and loans to foreign invested enterprises.
“I hope to provide assistance and convenience for Chinese enterprises to invest in such fields as tourism, high-tech, energy conservation and environmental protection as well as medical and health care,” he added.
Mularoni said, San Marino hopes to strengthen economic and trade cooperation with China, in particular in the fields of tourism, culture and finance.
“The Chamber of Commerce of San Marino is willing to work with CCPIT to create more platforms for exchanges and cooperation between the business communities of the two countries,” added Mularoni.
During the forum, Gao Yan and Mularoni signed a memorandum of understanding between CCPIT and San Marino’s Economic Development Agency-Chamber of Commerce.
Officials from CCPIT Department of Development and Research and Department of International Relations were in attendance.
