Gao Yan, Chairperson of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), met with Clare Fearnley, New Zealand Ambassador to China, in Beijing on June 14. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on jointly promoting the development of China-New Zealand economic and trade ties and further deepening cooperation between the two institutions.
Gao Yan said, China-New Zealand economic and trade cooperation has created a number of "firsts", and the two sides have the basis and good reason to continuously deepen bilateral exchanges and cooperation.
“New Zealand ranks among the top in the world in terms of openness and business environment. I hope the New Zealand side can share more of their advanced experience. New Zealand Embassy in China and CCPIT have maintained good cooperation for a long time. The two institutions can explore richer cooperation models by virtue of their functional advantages to promote more practical cooperation between business communities of the two countries, help enterprises of both sides to explore more business opportunities and add new vitality to China-New Zealand economic and trade cooperation,” added Gao.
Fearnley extended her gratitude to CCPIT for its contribution to promoting China-New Zealand economic and trade relations over the years and congratulated CCPIT on successfully holding the CEO Conference of the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, in which New Zealand companies have actively participated and reaped a sizable harvest.
“We are ready to deepen cooperation with CCPIT to assist enterprises of our two countries in exchanges and contribute to promoting bilateral economic and trade exchanges and two-way investment,” added Fearnley.
Officials from CCPIT Department of International Relations and Department of Bilateral Cooperation of China Chamber of International Commerce were in attendance.
