The “Jiangsu Day” of the Expo 2019 Beijing was held at Guirui Theatre on June 2. Chen Zhou, Commissioner General of the Expo 2019 Beijing and also Vice Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), and Wei Guoqiang, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Congress, attended and addressed the opening ceremony.

Chen Zhou said, with the theme of “Live Green, Live Better”, the Expo 2019 Beijing is not just an international gala for countries to share achievements and promote the ecological conservation, but an important stage for provinces, regions and cities to showcase their local features and culture.

“I hope Jiangsu Province could make good use of the Expo to further strengthen international exchanges and cooperation in economy, trade and culture, as well as its green development,” added Chen.

Lasting from June 2 to 4, the “Jiangsu Day” comprises cultural and arts performances, exhibitions of intangible cultural heritage and floriculture, promotion of tea industry and tourism, pavilion and garden tour, which focused on showcasing the integration of Jiangsu’s classic industries and traditional culture, and comprehensively promoting outcomes of its unique horticulture.
