The China-Argentina Economic and Trade Seminar, co-hosted by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and Argentine Embassy in China, was held in Beijing on June 4. Chen Zhou, Vice Chairman of CCPIT, and Diego Ramiro Guelar, Argentine Ambassador to China, attended and addressed the seminar. Marisa Bircher, Secretary of State of Agroindustrial Markets of Argentina, attended the seminar and introduced Argentina's trade and investment opportunities. Over 100 representatives from enterprises in the fields of agriculture, finance and services were in attendance.

Chen Zhou said, China and Argentina enjoy good momentum in bilateral relations and bright prospects for cooperation on economy and trade, and are highly complementary in terms of economic structures.

“CCPIT will further strengthen cooperation with Argentine relevant governmental departments and counterpart institutions to build platforms for exchanges between enterprises of the two countries, encourage Chinese companies to invest in Argentina's competitive industries, and continuously upgrade bilateral economic and trade cooperation,” added Chen.

Guelar noted, the Argentine government firmly supports multilateralism, fully agrees China’s position on the China-U.S. economic and trade consultations, and is willing to work with China to uphold an open and inclusive world economic order.

Bircher said, Argentina enjoys sound industrial foundation and resource endowments.

“I hope on the basis of further deepening cooperation in agriculture, infrastructure and other traditional fields, the two sides can actively expand cooperation in healthcare, e-commerce, tourism and modern service industry, and continuously optimize the structure of their economic and trade cooperation,” added Bircher.
