CCPIT Chairperson Gao Yan met with Samir Majoul, President of Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts in Tunis on April 3. The two sides exchanged views on the preparation of the China-Tunisia Investment Forum and on further strengthening of bilateral institutional cooperation and promoting the development of China-Tunisia economic and trade relations.
Gao Yan expressed her appreciation to Majoul for his strong support to the 8th China-Arab Business Conference and the China-Tunisia Business Forum. Gao Yan underscored that the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts is an important partner of CCPIT in Tunisia and has built a pragmatic platform for business communities of the two countries. Gao Yan hoped, the two sides would strengthen information research and exchange, enhance commercial legal services, promote policy matching, give full play to the role of the China-Tunisia Business Council and boost fruitful cooperation between businesses of the two countries. Gao Yan introduced the China-Arab States Business Summit 2019 and invited Tunisian business delegates to attend the "Belt and Road" CEO Conference to be held in Beijing in April this year.
Majoul welcomed Gao Yan and her large-scale delegation. Majoul said, since 2011 Tunisia has taken active measures to open up its market, enhance its competitiveness and boost exchanges in various fields. At present, Tunisia is taking measures to attract foreign investment, especially that from China. Tunisia is willing to work together with China to take concrete approaches to address the trade imbalance between the two countries and deepen cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
