CCPIT Vice Chairman Lu Pengqi met with Secretary-General of International Road Transport Union

CCPIT Vice Chairman Lu Pengqi met with Secretary-General of International Road Transport Union (IRU) Umberto de Pretto in Beijing on April 23. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on implementing the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation to Promote Trade Facilitation, practically contributing to the Belt and Road Initiative, jointly building matchmaking platforms for Chinese and foreign enterprises, and promoting the construction of the 4th China-Europe Logistics Channel.

Lu Pengqi said, China has piloted the TIR system under the Transports Internationaux Routiers, or TIR Convention of International Road Transport, which is a forceful measure to advance the "Belt and Road" construction. CCPIT and CCOIC will continue to deepen cooperation and exchanges with the IRU in promoting international trade facilitation.

Pretto introduced China’s implementation of TIR Convention, and emphasized its advantages in terms of safety, cost-effectiveness and efficiency. He said that the purpose of this visit is to work together with the CCPIT to promote the construction of the 4th China-Europe Logistics Channel.

Officials from CCPIT Department of Trade and Investment Promotion and CCPIT Commercial Certification Center were in attendance.
