CCPIT and CCOIC Chairperson Gao Yan met with Ritch N. Wood, CEO of U.S.-based Nu Skin Enterprises in Beijing on April 11. The two sides exchanged views on improving China's business environment, promoting China-U.S. economic and trade relations and strengthening U.S. companies’ investment in China.
Gao Yan said, close cooperation between China and the United States has brought tangible benefits to Nu Skin and other U.S. companies in China. Economic and trade differences and frictions between the two countries are temporary. It is hoped that the two sides can step up consultations in accordance with the instructions of their respective heads of state so as to bring bilateral economic and trade relations back to normal track as soon as possible.
Gao Yan noted, the Chinese government attaches great importance to business environment. The adoption of the Foreign Investment Law of the People's Republic of China marks China will usher in a new era of all-round opening-up. Nu Skin, as the vice chairman-level membership of the CCOIC, can actively share demands of U.S. companies in China, and join hands with the CCPIT and CCOIC to contribute to the further improvement of the business environment and to deepen understanding between China-U.S. political and business communities.
Ritch N. Wood introduced Nu Skin’s current business development in China. He said, Nu Skin has witnessed the enormous changes in China since the reform and opening-up in 1978. Only the steady relations of the two countries could benefit their companies. Nu Skin thinks highly of the important role of the CCPIT in promoting China's opening-up and its trade and investment cooperation with other countries. Nu Skin hopes to enhance cooperation with the CCPIT and further expand investment in China to promote Sino-U.S. economic and trade cooperation.
Officials from CCPIT Department of International Relations and CCOIC were in attendance.
