CCPIT Chairperson Gao Yan met Director of Liaison Office of the Central Government in Macao Fu Ziying in Macao on May 13. The two sides exchanged opinions on the topics of promoting Macao’s participation in the “Belt and Road” construction and Guangzhou-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay, supporting Macao’s efforts to build “One Center, One Platform and One Base”, increasing trade and economic ties between Chinese mainland and Macao as well as facilitating the moderate diversification of Macao’s economy .

Gao Yan said, as CCPIT and its Macao counterparts have established an institutionalized partnership and have held a series of trade and investment promotion events, good results have been achieved in strengthening the trade and economic ties between Chinese mainland and Macao as well as supporting Macao in building the cooperation platform for business cooperation with Portuguese-speaking countries. CCPIT is willing to work together with the Special Administrative Region of Macao, Liaison Office of the Central Government in Macao and its Macao counterparts to support and assist Macao in realizing all its development goals and maintaining the long-term prosperity and stability of Macao based on the positioning of Macao by the central government.

Fu Ziying noted, Macao has made progress both in the exhibition industry and interaction with the Portuguese-speaking countries over the years under the support of CCPIT, laying a foundation for the moderate diversification of Macao’s economy. The close collaboration between the business and commerce communities of Chinese mainland and Macao is indispensable for Macao’s participation in the national strategy. Therefore, Fu hoped that CCPIT can help promote the social and economic development of Macao by stepping up its work on Macao and fully mobilizing its resources within the CCPIT system so as to benefit the business and commerce communities of both sides.

Also present at the meeting were heads of CCPIT Department of Development Research, Department of International Relations, Enterprise Service Center for Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, Training Center and Representative Office in Macao.
