Chairperson of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Gao Yan met with Yohei Kono, President of the Japanese Association for the Promotion of International Trade (JAPIT) on April 17.
Both sides had deep exchanges on the cooperation between CCPIT and JAPIT, as well as the promotion of Sino-Japanese economic and trade relations.
Gao Yan said, with the joint efforts of Chinese and Japanese leaders, Sino-Japanese relations have been resumed to normal development. Bilateral cooperation in all fields has seen new progress. The recent statistics issued by National Bureau of Statistics indicated that China has seen stable economic development in the first quarter of this year, which has created favorable market conditions for Sino-Japanese business cooperation. Since establishment, JAPIT has been dedicated to economic and trade promotion with China and contributed to normalization of bilateral relations, promotion of Sino-Japanese friendship and business exchanges. CCPIT is willing to cooperate with Japan to set up more platforms to promote cooperation in energy-saving, environmental protection, high-end manufacturing, medical and elderly care, the third-party market, etc.
Yohei noted, it is of special significance to have business delegation visiting China on occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Yohei said he endorsed the idea of safeguarding multilateral trade system and promoting trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, promulgated by Chinese president Xi Jinping. Fostering Sino-Japanese economic and trade cooperation is of great significance amid the increased complexity and uncertainty of the world’s economy. Yohei expressed his optimism on China’s economy since the data of the first quarter of 2019 indicates that the measures taken by the Chinese government in tax reduction and encouraging investment has been effective. He conveyed his gratitude for CCPIT’s long-term support, spoke highly of CCPIT’s contribution in promoting Sino-Japanese business ties and hoped both sides jointly created more platforms for trade and investment promotion with more business opportunities.
