The "Beijing Day" event at the International Horticultural Exhibition 2019 Beijing (Expo 2019 Beijing) kicked off in Yanqing District of Beijing on May 1, two days after the opening of the Expo.

Themed "Beautiful Beijing Shinning at the Expo", the three-day event put on stage a series of activities to demonstrate achievements the capital has made in ecological, cultural and urban development and international exchange.

Participants include Gao Yan, CCPIT Chairperson, also the executive director of Expo 2019 Beijing Executive Committee, Jiang Zehui, President of China Flower Association (CFA), Bernard Oosterom, President of the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH), attended the opening ceremony. Mayor of Beijing Chen Jining announced the opening of the “Beijing Day”.

Gao Yan said, the “Beijing Day” is the first theme day of China’s 31 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities and SARs. Gao hoped participants can share experiences and exchange ideas to contribute to building a beautiful homeland.

“As the executive committee of the Expo 2019 Beijing, CCPIT will provide support for the ‘Beijing Day’ event with its advantages,” added Gao.

Artists from Serbia, Lithuania and China performed Kung-fu dance and chorus. CCPIT Vice Chairman Chen Zhou, Secretary of Municipal Government of Beijing Jin Wei, etc. were in attendance.
