CCPIT & ITC to foster cooperation in promoting trade among Belt & Road countries

China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the International Trade Center (ITC) have agreed to foster cooperation in promoting trade along the Belt and Road countries.

The agreement was made and CCPIT Chairperson Gao Yan and ITC Executive Director Arancha Gonzalez held a meeting in Beijing on April 26.

Gao Yan conveyed her gratitude for Gonzalez’s visit to China and participation in the Belt and Road CEO Conference. Gao said the Belt and Road Initiative and UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals are highly compatible. CCPIT is willing to deepen cooperation with ITC under the Belt and Road framework, support trade and investment among enterprises of Belt and Road countries, assist small and medium-sized enterprises to raise global competitiveness, and achieve the UN 2030 SDGs so as to promote common development.

Gonzalez spoke highly of the achievements in the Belt and Road CEO Conference, saying that ITC supports the Belt and Road Initiative and is willing to participate in the B&R events and to implement the joint Partnership for Investment and Growth in Africa (PIGA) projects with CCPIT to create more business opportunities for enterprises, contributing to the economic growth of China and other developing countries.
