China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) have vowed to jointly safeguard the interests of Chinese and British business communities and promote Sino-British business ties.

Both sides made the agreement as CCPIT Vice Chairman Chen Zhou and CBI Deputy Director Joshua Hardie in London on January 31.

Chen Zhou said, the leaders of China and the United Kingdom reached consensus on promoting Sino-British relations which has come into a “golden era” during British Prime Minister Theresa May’s official visit to China in early 2018.

“We are willing to make joint efforts with the British side to enhance mutual trust, deepen cooperation, deepen exchanges and coordination, jointly advocate multilateralism and free trade, and build an open global economy. The Sino-British economic and trade cooperation has broad prospects by favor of the continuous upgrading of Chinese economy. CCPIT is willing to strengthen exchange and cooperation with CBI to boost bilateral trade and two-way investment,” added Chen.

Hardie said, CBI is willing to cooperate with CCPIT to speak for and safeguard the interests of business communities of both countries to promote Sino-British business relations.
