Qatar to improve business environment for more foreign investment

The government of Qatar has pledged to improve its business environment to attract more foreign investment, a high-ranking official from Qatar said.

Qatar’s Minister of Commerce and Industry Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari made the pledge at the Qatar-China Business Forum in Beijing on January 31.

Kuwari said the 2030 Vision, proposed by the Qatari government, aims to promote the development of diversified economy. Qatar is willing to provide assistance for both Qatari and Chinese enterprises.

Lu Pengqi, Vice Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the host of the event, hailed the complementary economies of China and Qatar, which has granted broad outlook for bilateral cooperation. CCPIT is willing to further exchanges with relevant agencies of Qatar to achieve more benefits.

The forum is a sideline business event of the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani’s state visit to China on January 30 to 31. Nearly 400 entrepreneurs from both countries attended the forum.
