2019 Nepal-China Business Cooperation Forum held in Kathmandu

The 2019 Nepal-China Business Cooperation Forum, co-hosted by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) was held in Kathmandu, Nepal on January 21.

Around 100 representatives from Chinese and Nepalese business communities attended the forum.

Addressing the forum, CCPIT Vice Chairman Zhang Shenfeng said CCPIT attaches great important to the China-Nepal economic and trade cooperation and CCPIT is willing to work with CNI to bridge the enterprises of both countries. Zhang made three proposals for deepening bilateral business ties.

“First, we will endeavor to expand bilateral trade. Second, we need to further explore investment cooperation field. Last but not lease, we will continue to further cooperation with relevant trade promotion agencies,” added Zhang.

Hari Bhakta Sharma, President of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) said Nepal enjoys political stability with continuously optimized investment policy and improved investment climate.

“Nepal boasts huge development potentials in infrastructure construction, hydroelectric power, tourism, banking and insurance. CNI is willing to foster cooperation with CCPIT to encourage more Chinese companies to invest in Nepal,” added Hari.
