A forum on the 2018 Guangdong 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo was held in Guangzhou on October 26. CCPIT Vice Chairman Zhang Shenfeng made remarks at the opening ceremony. Also present at the opening ceremony were Assistant Minister of Commerce Ren Hongbin and Deputy Governor of Guangdong Ouyang Weimin.

Zhang noted, CCPIT will cooperate with chambers of commerce of all countries in all fields under the “Belt and Road” framework to step up trade and investment facilitation, expand commercial law services and organize China’s commerce and industrial community to participate in international law formulation and global economic governance, so as to create more opportunities for companies to participate in international trade cooperation and to make contribution to the international trade exchange and cooperation and building an open world economy.

The forum is themed at “Building a New Platform for Openness and Cooperation, Creating New Drivers for Shared Development”. Parallel sessions will also be held including Forum for Construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and “Belt and Road” as well as Forum for “Belt and Road” Industrial Park Construction Cooperation.
