China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) plans to foster cooperation with trade and investment promotion agencies in the Dominican Republic.
CCPIT Chairman Jiang Zengwei and the visiting Minister of Economy, Planning and Development of the Dominican Republic Isidoro Santana agreed with the further cooperation at a trade and investment opportunity seminar for the Dominican Republic in Beijing on June 11.
“CCPIT held seven exhibitions of the People’s Republic of China in the Dominican Republic years before the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Exchanges of visit, seminars, forums and other forms of business events were organized by CCPIT to build a platform for the business community of both countries. The establishment of diplomatic ties has provided huge opportunities for the cooperation in all fields. CCPIT is willing to enhance cooperation with Dominican trade and investment promotion agencies, chambers of commerce and industry to benefit companies of both sides,” added Jiang.
Jiang’s remarks were echoed by Isidoro Santana, who admired the economic progress that China has achieved in the past decades. Isidoro said, the Dominican Republic expected to enhance comprehensive cooperation with China to boost bilateral trade ties. Meanwhile, he welcomed Chinese companies to participate in the economic construction of the Dominican Republic to set up long-term and friendly cooperation partnership.
Beijing is the first leg of Isidoro’s China visit. He will also tour Harbin, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
