A business seminar with regard to trade and investment between Canada and China was held in Toronto on April 20.
The seminar, co-hosted by China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) and Canada-China Business Council (CCBC) mainly discussed about the outlook of Canada-China business cooperation, cooperation in the new fields, trade and investment facilitation as well as investment strategies of Chinese enterprises. A business match-making meeting was held after the seminar. More than 150 delegates from Chinese and Canadian business community were in attendance.
Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Jiang Zengwei shared the achievements in China-Canada economic and trade cooperation. He said, as the political mutual trust has been strengthened in recent years, the Sino-Canadian bilateral ties have come into a golden era. The bilateral trade has covered a variety of fields, such as finance, telecommunications, aviation industry, energy, agriculture and technology research and development, compared with only in commodity in the past.
Moreover, Jiang portrayed a positive outlook on China-Canada economic and trade cooperation.
“China is a large country in manufacturing industry with abundant capital, potential market and impetus in innovation. Canada boasts political stability, perfect legal system, rich natural resources, mature market conditions and well-developed agriculture, mining and high-tech industry. The two countries have complementary economy and huge cooperation potentials,” added Jiang.
Jiang Zengwei made four proposals for deepening China-Canada economic and trade cooperation. First: to explore trade potentials by innovative means. Second: to promote two-way investment. Third, to jointly develop the third-party markets. Last but not least, to jointly create good business environment.
Meanwhile, CCPIT and CCBC also vowed to further cooperation in promoting two-way investment and enhancing enterprises of both countries to cooperate by favor of the Belt and Road Initiative.
