A business seminar in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of China-Japan Peace and Friendship Treaty was held in Beijing on April 10. The major three topics discussed at the seminar included the 40th anniversary of China-Japan Peace and Friendship Treaty, the Belt and Road Initiative and Sino-Japanese economic and trade cooperation.

Deputy Secretary-General of China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) Zhang Yi said, this year marks the 40th anniversary of China-Japan Peace and Friendship Treaty. In the past four decades, with the joint efforts of both sides, fruitful results have been achieved in the economic and trade cooperation. The two sides need to strengthen their respective advantages in participating in Belt and Road construction, exploring the cooperation and development of the third-party market which focuses on the mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of energy conservation, innovation and modern service industry.

Vice-President of Japan Association for the Promotion of International Trade (JAPIT) Shigemitsu Miki said, since the normalization of Sino-Japanese bilateral ties, the two countries have made great progress in all fields. JAPIT and CCPIT jointly promoted business exchanges even prior to the normalization of the ties. The two agencies have vowed to further economic exchanges in the future.

At the seminar, the experts from National Development and Reform Commission and Ministry of Commerce gave presentations with regard to Belt and Road Initiative, and China-Japan joint cooperation in exploring the third-party market.

More than 200 participants from the business community of the two countries attended the seminar.
