CCPIT promoted International Horticultural Exhibition 2019 Beijing in Costa Rica

A promotion fair for the International Horticultural Exhibition 2019, Beijing was held in San Jose, Costa Rica on October 13.

Vice Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Chen Zhou and Chinese ambassador to Costa Rica Tang Heng attended and addressed the promotion fair. Also in attendance were ambassadors of Nicaragua and El Salvador to Costa Rica, Minister-Counselor of the Dominican Republic to Costa Rica as well as delegates from Costa Rican government and chambers of commerce.

Chen Zhou noted, the International Horticultural Exhibition 2019, Beijing will provide a stage for the participating countries to have exchanges in horticulture industry, unique culture, tourism resources, products and technologies. Up to now, 30 countries and 1 intergovernmental organization have confirmed participation in written form. More than 90 countries have the intention to participate. They expect that every delegate can have deep understanding of the world’s largest horticultural event, and convince their governments to confirm participation.

Tang Heng said, as the top-class international horticultural event, the exhibition will foster trade cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between China and other countries, build mutual trust and enlarge common interests among countries. So far, the preparatory work for the event is undergoing smoothly. Tang added, the horticulture industry in Central America has unique characteristics. China sincerely expects all countries can be excellently presented at the exhibition.

Delegates from other countries watched a demo for the exhibition and spoke highly of the preparatory work. They inquired about the registration, favorable policy, transportation, custom clearance and services. They said they will urge their governments to confirm participation as soon as possible.

Chen Zhou also met Deng Haorong, Director of China-Costa Rican Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CICCC). Both sides exchanged ideas about CCPIT-CICCC cooperation and Costa Rica’s participation in the horticultural event.

The International Horticultural Exhibition 2019, Beijing, approved by the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) and recognized by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), is an A1 or the highest level world horticultural event hosted by the Chinese government and organized by the city of Beijing. The 2019 Expo, with the theme of “Live Green, Live Better”, will be held from April 29 to October 7, 2019, lasting for 162 days in the district of Yanqing, Beijing. An estimated 16 million visitors are expected to tour the exhibition.
