China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) will deepen cooperation with the US-China Business Council and the US Chamber of Commerce in a bid to promote the economic and trade relations between the world’s top two economies.

CCPIT Vice Chairman Chen Zhou made the remarks as he was meeting with Erin Ennis, Senior Vice President of the US-China Business Council and Jeremie O. Waterman, President of the China Center at the US Chamber of Commerce in Washington D.C. on October 10.

Chen Zhou noted, economic and trade relations are the cornerstone and propeller of Sino-US ties. The cooperation in economy and trade has been continuously deepened and the interests of both sides intermingled.

“Currently the two countries are restructuring their economies and transforming patterns for economic growth, which have brought new opportunities for deepening cooperation for enterprises of both sides. CCPIT is willing to work with the US-China Business Council and the US Chamber of Commerce to voice the concerns for Chinese and American business communities. Meanwhile, CCPIT hopes to organize more business trips, exhibitions, forums and seminars with the two American trade promotion agencies for enterprises of both sides to enhance information exchanges and provide commercial & legal services,” added Chen Zhou.

Chen also expected the two agencies convince the US government to confirm its participation in the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition and mobilize American enterprises to participate.

Erin said, the US-China Business Council and CCPIT have been in friendly cooperation for a long period of time. A healthy and stable economic and trade ties is essential to Sino-US relations and enterprises of both countries. The US-China Business Council will contribute to fostering the bilateral business ties.

Erin’s remarks were echoed by Jeremie, who hailed CCPIT as an important cooperation partner of the US Chamber of Commerce. Since a Memorandum of Understanding was signed in 1998, the two agencies have made numerous achievements in cooperation.

“The priority task for the US Chamber of Commerce is to make proposals for the trade policies made by the US government. Our agency is willing to sign a new MoU with CCPIT to render trade policy cooperation the priority of our common task. We are trying to create more favorable business conditions for companies of both sides to boost Sino-US business cooperation,” added Jeremie.
