China Committee for Silk Road Business Council established in Beijing

The China Committee for Silk Road Business Council was established in Beijing on August 25. More than 200 representatives of the committee members were in attendance.

The Chairman, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Committee were elected. The work report and regulations for the committee were also deliberated and passed.

Chen Jinxing, Chairman of China Datang Corporation was elected as the Chairman of the Committee. The Vice Chairmen were Shu Yinbiao, Chairman of State Grid Corporation of China, Qiao Baoping, Chairman of China Guodian Corporation, Ren Hongbin, Chairman of China National MachineryIndustry, Li Jianhong, Chairman of China Merchants Group, Chen Siqing, President of Bank of China, Jiang Yan, General Manager of China Tourism Group, Liu Qitao, Chairman of China Communications Construction, Song Xin, President of China Gold Association, Li Huaizhen, CEO of China's Minsheng Investment Corporation, Liang Wengen, President of Sany Group, and  Xu Jiayin, Chairman of Guangzhou's Evergrande Real Estate Group. Secretary-General of China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) was elected as the Committee’s secretary-general.

China Committee will promote cooperation between China and the countries along the “Belt and Road” in trade, investment, technological transfer, etc by organizing enterprises for business trips, policy research and discussion, project matching and training sessions. Meanwhile, the committee will offer policy advisory, financial and legal services for Chinese enterprises as they are expanding global markets, and assist them in “going global” so as to enable them in the transformation and upgrading of competitive industries.

Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Jiang Zengwei hailed the Committee promoting pragmatic cooperation for enterprises, building up an integrated trade and investment service system, assisting companies in risk control and moving forward inter-governmental policy coordination. Jiang added, the committee will play an essential role in pushing forward China’s “Belt and Road” Initiative.

The elected Chairman of the Committee Chen Jinxing said, the Committee plans to host a variety of events with its members to better serve Chinese companies.
