Official website for 2017 BRICS Business Forum launched

BRICS Business Forum, a major side event of the BRICS Summit, aims to facilitate dialogue and consultation among business communities of the BRICS countries, deepen trade and economic cooperation and express the voice of business communities in emerging countries.

The idea of establishing a business forum was first put forward at the first BRIC Summit held in Yekaterinburg, Russia on June 16, 2009. In 2010, Brazil hosted the first BRICS Business Forum.

China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) has taken the responsibility of organizing the Chinese business community to attend the BRICS Business Forum since 2010, and successfully held the 2011 Business Forum in Sanya, Hainan, China. CCPIT will hold the 2017 BRICS Business Forum in Xiamen, China on September 3-4, 2017. The Forum will include the opening ceremony, panel discussions and the closing ceremony. Centering on the theme of “BRICS: Stronger Partnership for a Brighter Future”, representatives will discuss and exchange ideas on such topics as trade and investment, connectivity, financial cooperation and development, and “Blue Economy”.
