The CCPIT chairman Jiang Zengwei met with Mr. Wuttke, president of European Union Chamber of Commerce in China and Mr. Marcegaglia, president of Business Europe during the 11th EU-China Business Summit on the morning of July 13. Both sides exchange opinions on enhancing bilateral cooperation and promoting China-EU trade and economic relationship.

Jiang said that China and EU are important economies of the world and both sides have been cooperation partners. As the world economic recovery is weak and international trade growth slows down, the stable growth of China-EU economic and trade cooperation would not be possible without the efforts of the business industry. China and EU are economically complementary and the bilateral trade and economic cooperation has huge development space. The CCPIT is willing to deepen cooperation with European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, Business Europe and other economic institutions to organize reciprocal visits, hold exhibitions and forums, and provide information consulting and commercial legal services, to offer more convenience to the bilateral cooperation between companies of both sides.
Mr. Wuttke and Mr. Marcegaglia said the EU business industry is willing to work with Chinese counterpart. They agree that China’s Belt and Road Initiative has bright development prospect and they hope companies of both sides shall strengthen cooperation in infrastructure, high-tech, environmental protection and connectivity. EU business industry expects to reach EU-China investment agreement soon, to provide good environment for bilateral investments.
The CCPIT vice chairman Yin Zonghua and BDI Director General Markus Kerber attended the meeting.
