The CCPIT will continue to expand two core businesses--trade and investment promotion, and commercial legal services, thus playing a greater role in promotion of open economy development, said Yin Zonghua, vice chairman of the CCPIT at a regular press conference on Jan. 20.

Yin recalled the remarkable achievements and new progress of the CCPIT in 2015, and put forward the goal of quality & efficiency improving and full expansion in 2016.

Yin said, 2016 marks the start of the 13th Five-Year Plan. In face of the situation of increasing downward pressure of foreign trade and difficulty of stabilizing two-way investment growth, the CCPIT will take the initiative to focus on the following work in five aspects:

First, the CCPIT will well organize the B20 China and other major business activities. B20 is an important platform for global business communities to participate in global economic governance and promote international economic and trade rules. The B20 China Kick-off Meeting will be held on January 26 when its overall arrangements will be released. The CCPIT will also do a good job in holding supporting business events for high-level visits, choose themes and make output design in advance, select enterprises with strong strength, good reputation and high industrial relevancy, and enrich the contents. Besides, the CCPIT will actively prepare for the Astana Expo 2017 with all its strength.

Second, the CCPIT will be deeply involved in the Belt and Road Initiative. As one of the implementers of the Belt and Road Initiative, the CCPIT will actively use its trade promotion network, organize enterprises to visit countries along the belt and road, provide business information of countries along the belt and road, push to improve trade and investment environment, and give full play to enterprises’ principal role.

Third, the CCPIT will strengthen promotion of trade and investment. Through innovation in service means, the CCPIT will expand work area, actively construct the platform for promoting trade in goods and services, "bringing in" and "going out", strive to build more brand exhibitions and forums, get deeply involved in foreign trade and economic cooperation zones, and make efforts to enhance the level of trade facilitation.

Fourth, the CCPIT will further lift the level of commercial legal services. The CCPIT is to build a "big legal" service system to improve legal work based on its comprehensive use of commercial legal services; strengthen business lobbying and friction response, study the potential of building lobbying institutions in the United States, Brazil, India and other countries, and increase the number of business frictions warning points to 100 within the year; improve commercial legal work system and set up commercial legal work agencies in key areas and industries; continue to improve quality of commercial legal services and push to improve arbitration system; strive to build China into an international arbitration center.

Fifth, the CCPIT will be deeply involved in international rule-making. The CCPIT is to organize the business circles to actively participate in global economic governance and lift international speaking right by using its resources and work platforms. On one hand, the CCPIT is to actively participate in activities of the business circles under the multilateral mechanisms including APEC, G20, Asia-Europe Meeting and the BRICS, and speak for Chinese enterprises. On the other hand, the CCPIT is to strengthen research to learn enterprises’ needs and timely report to relative government departments, and take part in relevant trade negotiations.

The conference was hosted by Feng Yaoxiang, the CCPIT spokesman and director general of Development Research Department. Chen Zhengrong, deputy secretary-General of the CCPIT and director general of International Liaison Department, director general of Department of Legal Affairs Wang Chengjie, and deputy director general of Trade and Investment Promotion Department Zhang Liang attended the conference and questions of media reporters.
