On July 17, the 2025 Mainland-Macao Business Associations Joint Conference was held in Beijing. Attendees at the Conference included Chen Jian'an, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT); Che Weng Keong, President of the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute of Macao (IPIM); Liu Decheng, Director of the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR; Vong Kok Seng, Vice President of the Macao Chamber of Commerce; Huang Tianfu, Vice President of the Industrial Association of Macau; Edmund Wong, Vice President of the Macau Importers and Exporters Association; Deng Junfang, President of the Macao Textile Merchants Association; Liao Yulin, Vice President of the Macau Shipper's Association, and Zhang Guoxin, Vice President and Chairman of the Macau Chinese Enterprises Association. Representatives from trade promotion agencies and chambers of commerce from the Chinese Mainland and Macao participated in the Conference.
Chen Jian'an stated that the Mainland-Macao Business Associations Joint Conference, marking its first convening in the Chinese Mainland since its establishment in 2004, held special significance by coinciding with the China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE). Since Macao’s return to the motherland, the economic and trade cooperation mechanisms between the Chinese Mainland and Macao have been steadily enhanced. Macao’s key economic indicators have surged to rank among the global forefront, with a significant increase in its international influence. CCPIT attaches great importance to strengthening ties and cooperation with the business community in Macao. In the future, it is necessary to further implement the joint meeting mechanism, jointly explore in-depth and cross-field cooperation between the two places, and strive to achieve more fruitful results in the economic and trade cooperation between the Chinese Mainland and Macao. He anticipated that, on the occasion of this Joint Conference and the 3rd CISCE, enterprises from the Chinese Mainland and Macao would strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the fields of scientific and technological innovation and industrial innovation.
At the meeting, representatives of the trade promotion agencies and chambers of commerce from the Chinese Mainland and Macao conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on topics such as integrating into the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, upgrading Macao's platform function between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, supporting the appropriate diversification of Macao's economy, and attracting Macao enterprises to invest in the Chinese Mainland.
