IV. INTRODUCTION
The 2nd China International Supply Chain Expo （CISCE） is scheduled on November 26-30, 2024, at the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi Venue) in Beijing. As the Guest Province of Honor for the 2nd CISCE, Hubei will host a series of events during the Expo. We sincerely invite you to the Conference on International Cooperation and New Quality Productive Force Innovation and Development for Supply Chains jointly held by Hubei provincial people’s government and CCPIT, which will be held at 14:30 in the afternoon of November 26, 2024 in Beijing, China.
Hubei is situated in central China by the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. This favorable location earns it the reputation as the gateway to China’s heartland. The province covers an area of 185,900 square kilometers and has a population of 61 million. It plays an important part in national strategies such as the Belt and Road Initiative and the Yangtze River Economic Belt. The provincial GDP in 2023 is 784.4 billion US dollars. Hubei has all the 41 industrial divisions. It is home to four national industrial bases and four national clusters of strategic emerging industries. Half of the world’s long-span bridges are made by Hubei and six out of ten high-speed trains in China are designed by Hubei. Hubei is the largest producer of optical fibers and cables and a major exporter of opto-electronic products across the globe.
This Conference themed "Connecting Hubei to the World" will focus on facilitating global cooperation in industrial and supply chains and forging an open path of cooperation to transform "supply chains" into "win-win chains." With "chains" as the medium, the conference will contribute to cultivating and developing new quality productive forces, stimulating new momentum for high-quality development. We anticipate the presence of around 500 attendees, including foreign ambassadors to China, representatives from international business associations, academicians and experts, leading enterprises in various industrial chains, and executives from supply chain platforms.
