On March 19, the “Foreign-Invested Enterprises Tour in Hainan” Government-Business Dialogue and Investment Promotion was held in Haikou, Hainan province. Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), attended and addressed the event.
Ren expressed that supporting Hainan’s construction of a free trade port is a significant move designed, arranged and promoted by General Secretary Xi Jinping in China’s reform and opening-up. After six years of development, laws, regulations and policy system of Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP) has been gradually put in place, the effect of cluster-based industrial parks has been highlighted, and the business environment has steadily improved, making Hainan FTP a favored destination for overseas investment. The CCPIT has always attached great importance to and actively participated in the building of the Hainan FTP, and has taken an array of measures to support Hainan enterprises to get involved in the global industrial division of labor and cooperation and to encourage foreign-invested enterprises to invest and develop businesses in Hainan. The “Foreign-Invested Enterprises Tour in Hainan” is the first stop of the “Local Tour” series activities designed for foreign businesses by the CCPIT this year, and also a practical measure to expand the role of its task forces set up for serving foreign enterprises and better serve Hainan FTP construction. In the next step, the CCPIT will boost cooperation with Hainan to help the province pursue high-standard opening-up and high-quality development.
About 200 representatives attended the event, including relevant heads of Hainan province, leading officials from departments directly under the provincial government, persons in charge of cities (counties) and industrial parks, as well as representatives from foreign chambers of commerce in China and foreign-invested enterprises. Participants carried out extensive and in-depth exchanges and interactions on investment and development in Hainan.
