On June 24, Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), attended and addressed the Informal Gathering of World Economic Leaders (IGWEL) at the 16th Annual Meeting of New Champions of the World Economic Forum (WEF), also known as the Summer Davos, in Tianjin.
Ren Hongbin stated that amid rising unilateralism and protectionism, all parties should firmly uphold multilateralism and free trade, strengthen communication, enhance mutual trust, and build broad consensus on reinforcing international cooperation in industrial and supply chains. These concerted efforts aim to establish industrial and supply chains that are secure, stable, smooth, efficient, open, inclusive, and mutually beneficial, thereby bringing more stability to global economic growth and trade development. China remains unwavering in its commitment to opening up and is a trustworthy partner for all countries. It will continue to be a fertile ground for foreign enterprises to invest and do business over the long run.
The meeting, chaired by WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, saw the in-person participation of over 70 political, business, and academic leaders from various countries. Prior to the meeting, Ren Hongbin visited several foreign-invested enterprises for research.
