From November 30 to December 2, at the invitation of the Canada China Business Council (CCBC), the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) organized a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs to visit Toronto and Ottawa in Canada. The visit aimed to promote the implementation of the outcomes of the meeting between Chinese and Canadian leaders in Gyeongju, South Korea, strengthen communication and exchanges between the industry and business communities of the two countries, and deepen the practical cooperation in areas such as trade and investment between the two sides.

Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the CCPIT, led the delegation to engage in extensive exchanges with people from the Canadian political and business circles. The delegation met with the head of Global Affairs Canada and held discussions with leaders of major business associations, including the CCBC, the Toronto Region Board of Trade, the Canadian Meat Council, the Canadian Pork Council, the Pulse Canada, and the Forest Products Association of Canada, as well as officials from Canadian companies like Brookfield Asset Management Inc. Ren Hongbin focused on promoting the guidelines from the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and introducing China’s efforts to advance the Chinese path to modernization through high-quality development and its commitment to driving high-level opening up. Additionally, he expressed the willingness of the CCPIT to join hands with all sectors in Canada to facilitate the expansion of trade, investment, and cooperation between enterprises of the two countries, and enhance the collaborative development of industrial and supply chains. The Canadian industry and business community are welcome to actively participate in a series of industry and business events during the tenure of China’s the host of APEC as well as the fourth China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) in 2026.

During the visit, the CCPIT and the CCBC co-hosted the Canada-China Forum on Trade and Investment Cooperation, where they also promoted the fourth CISCE. Over 150 representatives from Chinese and Canadian government departments, institutions, and enterprises carried out exchanges in key cooperation fields such as advanced manufacturing, digital technology, clean energy, and green agriculture.
