On September 2, the Malaysia-China High-Level Business Dialogue was convened in Beijing. Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim attended the event, alongside China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Chairman Ren Hongbin and Malaysia-China Business Council (MCBC) Chairman Low Kian Chuan, who delivered speeches. Also present were Malaysian ministers of transport, foreign affairs, home affairs, and investment, trade and industry, as well as the Malaysian Ambassador to China.
In his address, Anwar Ibrahim emphasized that Malaysia-China cooperation is fundamentally mutually beneficial and aligned with both nations’ development strategies. Malaysia is committed to comprehensively deepening collaboration with China to jointly address the threats of unilateralism and protectionism, and to safeguard the stability of global industrial, supply, and value chains. During the interactive session, Anwar responded to questions from Chinese business representatives and welcomed Chinese enterprises to invest and pursue mutually beneficial cooperation in Malaysia.
Ren Hongbin noted that under the strategic guidance of both countries’ leaders, the high-level strategic China-Malaysia community with a shared future has been steadily deepened, yielding substantial results across various fields. He expressed hope that the business communities of both countries would further tap into the potential for trade growth and collaboration, unleash momentum for investment cooperation, leverage business cooperation mechanisms, and strengthen integrated development of industrial and supply chains to contribute anew to the China-Malaysia comprehensive strategic partnership.
Low Kian Chuan stated that the business communities of both countries could further deepen cooperation in cutting-edge fields such as advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, digital economy, and green economy, thereby promoting the integrated development of industrial, supply, and value chains.
Representatives from Chinese and Malaysian enterprises engaged in in-depth discussions and negotiations on major project cooperation and industrial chain integration.
