National Day of China Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka Made a Success

The National Day of China Pavilion at Expo 2025 took place in Osaka, Kansai, Japan on May 11. Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Vice Premier of China’s State Council He Lifeng attended the event and delivered a speech.

He Lifeng stated that the World Expo serves as a crucial platform for promoting exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, driving social prosperity and progress, and enhancing friendship among peoples of all countries. The Chinese government attaches great importance to its participation in Expo 2025 Osaka. Thanks to the personal commitment of President Xi Jinping, the China Pavilion has made a splendid debut with the theme of “Building a Community of Life for Man and Nature—Future Society of Green Development.” Rooted in China’s vivid practices in the drive for ecological progress, the pavilion focuses on disseminating the country’s development philosophy of respecting, accommodating, and protecting nature, and envisions a bright future where China and the rest of the world work together to build a community of life for man and nature. Through captivating exhibitions and displays, rich interactive experiences, and a range of cultural and exchange activities, global audiences are bound to gain a true image of China that is beautiful, credible, appealing, and respectable through the China Pavilion.

He Lifeng emphasized that China and Japan are close neighbors with a history of friendly exchanges spanning over 2,000 years. In November last year, President Xi Jinping held a meeting with Japan’s Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru, providing strategic guidance for the development of bilateral relations. China is willing to work with Japan to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, jointly strive to advance the China-Japan strategic relationship of mutual benefit, and build a constructive and stable China-Japan relationship fit for the new era.

He Lifeng toured the China Pavilion and the Japan Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka and engaged in friendly exchanges with Moriyama Hiroshi, Secretary-General of Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party, and representatives from the Kansai Economic Federation who attended the National Day event.

During the event, a large-scale cultural performance themed “Splendid China, Shaping the Future Together” was also held. The performing troupe from Shaanxi Province showcased the time-honored and profound Chinese culture on the stage of Expo 2025 Osaka through various performance forms, including ethnic songs and dances, musical instruments, operas, martial arts, acrobatics, and street dance, highlighting the vibrant vitality of China’s high-quality development and the youthful energy of Chinese modernization.

Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), and Li Qingshuang, Vice Chairperson of the CCPIT, attended the event. Over 400 representatives from political circles, business communities, friendly groups, and media in China and Japan as well as from pavilions of other countries attended the event in person. Also in attendance were Chinese Ambassador to Japan Wu Jianghao and Consul-General of China in Osaka Xue Jian.

With the theme of “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” Expo 2025 Osaka is scheduled to be held from April 13 to October 13, 2025. On behalf of the Chinese government, the CCPIT organizes the China Pavilion’s participation in the Expo. Since its opening on April 13, the China Pavilion has received over 770,000 visitors from countries all over the world. More than 200 political dignitaries and well-known figures from 75 countries and regions have visited the pavilion for exchanges. In addition, the China Pavilion has also hosted over 20 diverse events, including weeks (days) of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, enterprise days, and theme days.
