On November 5, the Global Business and Law Conference 2025 was held in Qingdao. Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT); Li Mingzheng, Vice Minister of Justice in China; Zhou Liwei, Member of the Standing Committee of the Shandong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Head of the Organization Department; Wang Zhenjiang, Vice President of the China Law Society; Xi Guohua, Chairman of CITIC Group Corporation; El hadji Abdourahmane Ndione, Chairman of the ISO Committee on developing country matters (IOS/DEVCO); Huang Jin, President of the Chinese Society of International Law; Sundra Rajoo, President of the Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution; attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Javier Cremades, President of the World Jurist Association, delivered a video speech.
Ren Hongbin stated that the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee has outlined the blueprint for China's economic and social development over the next five years, injecting strong impetus into China's efforts to accelerate the establishment of a foreign-related legal system and enhance the effectiveness of foreign-related legal governance. The CCPIT boasts a profound foundation and diversified business operations in foreign-related legal work. It will build higher-quality economic and trade platforms and provide higher-level legal services, empowering the global business and legal communities to fully leverage their respective strengths and expand the scope of cooperation, thereby contributing to the international economic and trade exchanges and the stable development of the world economy.
Liu Jiannan, Vice Chairman of CCPIT, presided over the opening ceremony and, on behalf of the participating business and legal communities, released the "Declaration of the Global Business and Law Conference 2025". The declaration put forward five initiatives: upholding the international rule of law to safeguard the stable and smooth functioning of global industrial and supply chains; implementing global initiatives to jointly promote inclusive and beneficial economic globalization; strengthening legal safeguards to empower global industrial innovation and development; improving dispute resolution mechanisms to jointly build an open world economy; and fostering collaboration between the legal and business sectors to jointly promote global prosperity and development.
The theme of this conference is "Strengthening International Cooperation on Rule of Law to Promote Inclusive Economic Development". During the event, a main forum and two parallel forums were held, focusing on the topics of "Legal Challenges and Responses to Unimpeded Industrial and Supply Chains", "Rule of Law Construction and Dispute Resolution from a Global Perspective", and "Intellectual Property and Artificial Intelligence in the Wave of Innovation". Over 1,000 representatives from international organizations and institutions, government departments of multiple countries, diplomatic envoys to China, legal service providers, business associations, and enterprises attended the conference offline, with foreign participants accounting for more than one-third, covering 47 countries and regions.
