ICC WCF General Council Elects Its First Chinese Female Member

Recently, Yu Min, General Director of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) China Secretariat, China Chamber of International Commerce (China), was elected the General Council of the World Chambers Federation (WCF) of the ICC, becoming its first female member from China and commencing a term of office from January 2023.

The WCF is the ICC’s special body mainly responsible for coordinating contacts and collaborations among chambers of commerce. Currently, it represents more than 1,400 chambers worldwide. Since its establishment in the 1950s, the WCF has served as an important platform for the ICC to engage in global economic governance and promote the realization of global common values, making itself an important link connecting chambers of commerce in different countries. In addition, the WCF has played a key role in advancing the liberalization and facilitation of trade and investment.

The WCF General Council comprises 51 members, including 11 Executive Committee members and 40 council members.
