Parallel Forum 1: Rule of Law and Change Forum (September 23, 14:00-17:10)

Forum Theme: Enhance International Rule of Law to Lead the Era of Transformation

Introduction: In the post-pandemic era, the global economy grapples with insufficient growth momentum, a reversal in economic globalization, ongoing geopolitical conflicts, escalated unilateral sanctions, heightened fragmentation of international law due to the divergence of national blocs, compounded crises in non-traditional security domains, and a growing urgency for formulating regulations in emerging areas. The world faces increasingly pronounced instability and uncertainty, resulting in intense turbulence and profound adjustments within international relations and the global landscape. These circumstances pose unprecedented challenges to global economic governance and international rule of law. The Rule of Law and Change Forum will revolve around uniting the global business community to spearhead reforms and construction within the global economic governance system, thereby promoting an open-world economy and the creation of a shared human destiny. This forum is co-organized by the Institute of International Disputes Prevention and Settlement at Beijing Institute of Technology, the Secretariat of the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization, and the Legal Affairs Department of the CCPIT.

Parallel Forum 2: Rule of Law and Innovation Forum (September 23, 9:30-11:30)

Forum Theme: Strengthen Legal Guarantee to Drive Innovative Development

Introduction: Innovation stands as the foremost driving force behind development, and safeguarding intellectual property equates to safeguarding innovation. With the rapid advancement of a new wave of technological transformation and the deepening of economic globalization, the role of intellectual property as a strategic resource for national development and a core element of international competitiveness has become even more prominent. Countries worldwide are proactively introducing and implementing robust policies and measures for protecting intellectual property. Through high-standard intellectual property protection and effective utilization, nations aim to unleash and stimulate the impetus for innovation-driven development, thereby enhancing their global influence and reach. The Rule of Law and Innovation Forum will center its discussions around empowering global innovative development through intellectual property. This forum is jointly organized by the Patent and Trademark Law Office of CCPIT, China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd., and the Legal Department of CCPIT.

Parallel Forum 3: Rule of Law and Cooperation Forum (September 23, 9:30-11:30)

Forum Theme: Harness the Power of Rule of Law to Foster Business Cooperation

Introduction: Confronted with unprecedented global risks and challenges, the global business community must uphold genuine multilateralism and practice a shared vision of global governance based on consultation, cooperation, and shared benefits. This entails reinforcing mutual coordination, enhancing risk preparedness, engaging in extensive international and regional legal exchanges, deepening multilateral, bilateral, and regional commercial legal cooperation, and driving the diversification of dispute resolution methods such as arbitration, mediation, and litigation to effectively mitigate conflicts. By harnessing the collective strength of global business legal governance, we can foster a sense of community through collaboration, embracing the spirit of a larger family where mutual support and assistance prevail. By standing united in times of adversity, we can navigate various challenges, steer clear of risks, and expedite the global economy's emergence from its current stagnation, thereby contributing positive energy to worldwide development and prosperity. The Rule of Law and Cooperation Forum will center its discussions around diversified international commercial dispute resolution methods, including arbitration, mediation, and litigation. This forum is co-organized by the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), the China Maritime Arbitration Commission (CMAC), the Commercial Law Center of CCPIT, the China Academy of Arbitration Law, and the Legal Affairs Department of CCPIT.
