On August 22, the 8th International Mediation Summit was held in Urumqi, Xinjiang. Yu Jianlong, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Toxti Yaqup, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, Wang Qijiang, Vice President of China Law Society, Cheung Kwok-kwan, Deputy Secretary for Justice of Hong Kong, and Yan Jindong, Deputy Director of the Bureau of People's Participation and Promotion of Rule of Law of the Ministry of Justice, attended and addressed the opening ceremony.
Yu Jianlong stated that the CCPIT has long been dedicated to the popularization, application, and development of commercial mediation, and is willing to cooperate sincerely with all parties to actively build a non-confrontational dispute resolution platform and continuously improve international commercial mediation cooperation.
The forum, themed "Deepen Reform and Innovation in Dispute Resolution Mechanism and Promote the Development of Economic Trade & Investment", was hosted by the CCPIT Commercial Legal Service Center. More than 340 mediators, arbitrators, and legal experts from 15 countries and regions attended the event in person, while 5.92 million people followed the event via an online live stream.
