On September 3rd, the 2022 Economic Development Forum on Carbon Neutrality was held in Beijing, and Zhang Shaogang, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), attended and addressed the forum.

Zhang Shaogang said that the China Council of the Sustainable Markets Initiative (SMI), recently established officially under President Xi Jinping's support, will become an important cooperation platform for Chinese business community to participate in global sustainable development. The business community plays a vital role in global climate and environmental governance. He hopes that Chinese business community remains committed to shouldering its due responsibility and strengthening mutually-beneficial cooperation under the guidance of Xi Jinping thought on eco-civilization.

The forum is a major activity under the framework of the China Council of SMI and sideline event of 2022 China International Fair for Trade in Services. Organized by the CCPIT, China Chamber of International Commerce, China Council of SMI, World Resources Institute and International Institute of Green Finance of the Central University of Finance and Economics, it was joined by more than 100 representatives from domestic and foreign business communities and international organizations.
