On November 13th, the opening ceremony and the first theme session of the Online Conference on Trade and Economic Cooperation for Chambers of Industry and Commerce in “B&R” Countries (CEEC) were held digitally. The event was hosted by the Department of Trade and Investment Promotion of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), organized by the Training Center of CCPIT (China Chamber of International Commerce), and supported by the International Trade Center (ITC). Zhang Shenfen, Vice Chairman of CCPIT, and Steve Blank, Acting Director of Division of Country Programmes of ITC, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. 44 delegates from 11 central and eastern European countries (CEEC) attended the meeting.
Zhang Shenfeng said that central and eastern European countries are important partners in the "Belt and Road" Initiative. CCPIT will work with ITC as well as the industrial and business circles of central and eastern European countries to make contributions to the high-quality development of the “Belt and Road”, to the world economic recovery and to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
Experts from the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic China, Shandong University of Finance and Economics, and ITC shared their views on the theme of "Trends and Countermeasures of Trade and Economic Development in the Post-Epidemic Era".
The conference, comprising four sessions, will focus on trade and investment cooperation opportunities between China and central and eastern European countries, and match supply and demand of high-quality products from those countries.
