On the afternoon of November 6th, Zhang Shenfeng, Vice Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), attended and addressed the 2nd China Arbitration Summit in Shanghai. The forum was co-hosted by Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Justice, Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai, and Shanghai Arbitration Association (SHAA). Xiong Xuanguo, Vice Minister of Justice; Yu Shaoliang, Deputy Secretary of and Secretary of Political and Legal Committee of Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, attended the summit and jointly unveiled the Shanghai Headquarters of the China Maritime Arbitration Commission.
Zhang Shenfeng said that arbitration is an indispensable part of China's rule of law and plays an irreplaceable role in fostering a stable, fair, transparent and predictable law-based business environment. The Shanghai Headquarters of China Maritime Arbitration Commission will become the core of its maritime arbitration business, the focus of its maritime arbitration brand and the publicity window and innovation platform of its core business. The Shanghai Headquarters will work together with the Beijing Sub-Commission and jointly form a "Beijing + Shanghai" cross region development pattern.
Officials from CCPIT Department of Trade and Investment Promotion also attended the forum.
