On September 24th, the Guangdong 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo 2020 Theme Forum opened in Guangzhou. Lu Pengqi, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) attended the event and delivered a speech.
The Vice Chairman said that to promote the cooperation and development of countries along the Maritime Silk Road, we should continue to follow the principle of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, focus on high standards and sustainable goals, benefit people's livelihood and achieve high-quality development. Firstly, a favorable environment for development should be created. Secondly, greater space for cooperation should be expanded. Thirdly, innovation-driven development should be upheld. CCPIT is ready to work with relevant parties to build a China-based trade and investment promotion system that radiates to countries along the Belt and Road and is open to the whole world, making positive contributions to promoting high-quality development of the countries along the Belt and Road, promoting world economic recovery and building a community with a shared future for mankind.
With the theme of “Opening up, Innovation and High-quality Joint Development”, the forum was attended by more than 500 guests from international organizations, embassies and consulates in China, multinational companies, domestic enterprises and national trade promotion agencies. Participants held discussions on innovation-driven development, high-level international cooperation, high-quality development and other topics, giving suggestions for the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.
