CCPIT Vice Chairman Zhang Shaogang met with Alibaba Group Partner and President of the Public Affairs Department Wen Jia in Beijing on July 22. The two sides exchanged views on in-depth participation in multilateral business cooperation mechanisms such as BRICS and how to strengthen cooperation between the two bodies.
Vice Chairman Zhang Shaogang said that as a platform authorized by state leaders of BRICS countries, the BRICS Women Business Alliance (WBA) is of great significance. He hoped that Wen Jia, as a member of the the Chinese board of directors of the WBA, could focus on input and make full use of the platform to show the characteristics of Chinese enterprises and serve the overall interests of BRICS cooperation. At the same time, he hoped that Alibaba could give full play to its advantages in the field of digital economy and work closely with relevant departments of CCPIT to build more high-quality innovation platforms to better serve small and medium-sized enterprises during the fight against COVID-19.
Wen Jia said that she would fulfill her job in the WBA, tell China's stories and create a good international environment for the development of Chinese enterprises including Alibaba, under the overall coordination of CCPIT. She also hoped that CCPIT could provide guidance and support in terms of policy and external communication.
Relevant officials from Department of International Relations of CCPIT, Department of Conference and Exhibition and Department of Multilateral Cooperation of China Chamber of International Commerce were also in attendance.
