China-UAE Economic and Trade Digital Expo was held jointly by the UAE Ministry of Economy and CCPIT from July 15 to 21. Gao Yan, CCPIT Chairperson, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Zhang Shenfeng and Chen Jian’an, both CCPIT Vice Chairmen, also attended the ceremony. Gao Yan said, the digital transformation of the world economy is the general trend. Digital technology, industry and service play an important role in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic, maintaining the security of international industrial chain and supply chain. In line with the development trend of digital economy, CCPIT creates digital exhibitions and accelerates the construction of “CCPIT Exhibition Cloud Platform”, a digital exhibition service platform.
The week-long event provides online communication and negotiation opportunities and match-making services for enterprises by using digital exhibition platform, attracting 2,100 enterprises from China and the UAE. More than 12,000 buyers from 11 countries such as the UAE, Egypt and China participated in the match-making event.
Others who attended and addressed the opening ceremony include Ni Jian, Chinese Ambassador to the UAE, Li Yufei, deputy head of the Office of Deepening Overall Reform at the Communist Party of China Hainan Provincial Committee, Thani Ahmad Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade of the UAE Ministry of Economy, Ali Obaid Al Dhaheri, UAE’s ambassador to China, Buhumaid, board member of the UAE “Hala China”, and Mohammed Al Zarooni, Director General of the Dubai Airport Freezone Authority (DAFZA). About 300 representatives from Chinese and the UAE government, chambers and associations, free trade zones, trade promotion agencies and enterprises joined it online.
