The 2nd Belt and Road Trade and Investment Policies and Practices Exchange Meeting, co-hosted by Ministry of Commerce of the PRC, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association, was held in Hong Kong on November 21. Deputy Minister of Commerce of China Wang Bingnan, Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong S.A.R. Deputy Director Qiu Hong, CCPIT Vice Chairman Chen Jian’an, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of Hong Kong Edward Yau Tang-wah, and HKTDC Chairman Peter K N Lam attended the meeting.
“Jointly building the Belt and Road is an important initiative put forward by President Xi Jinping after thinking deeply about the future of humanity. It is the world’s largest public good and platform for international cooperation. The business community is a significant force for driving the Belt and Road construction. CCPIT will strengthen its cooperation with all stakeholders to provide more platforms and better services for Hong Kong and Chinese mainland enterprises to participate in the initiative, and promote Hong Kong to play a greater role in the initiative,” said Chen.
More than 500 participants from relevant government departments, trade promotion agencies, business associations and business communities from the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong attended the meeting.
