Commercial Exposition of China in the Dominican Republic 2019, hosted by CCPIT and organized by CCIOC, was held in Santo Domingo on November 18. Zhang Run, Chinese ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Miguel Vargas, Foreign Minister of the Dominican Republic, Guo Yinghui, Director of Exhibition Department of CCOIC, Miguel Mejía, Minister for Regional Integration, Marius De León, Director of Dominican Republic Export and Investment Center attended and addressed the ceremony.
Zhang Run said, opening-up and common development are what China pursues.
“We want to promote our high-quality products to the world, and also welcome the high-quality products from the world to China. China is willing to exchange with the Dominican Republic and help the country to achieve digital, green and peaceful development,” added Zhang.
Guo Yinghui said, “the CCPIT-hosted exposition is the eighth of its kind held in the Dominican Republic, and it is also the first time that CCPIT held exhibition in the Caribbean country since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 2018. Over the years, the exhibition has become a famous brand in Central America. It is also an important platform for economic and trade cooperation between China and Central American countries.”
Miguel Vargas and Marius De León affirmed the achievements of China-Dominican Republic relations since the establishment of diplomatic ties for more than one year.
“Deepening economic and trade exchanges with China will help the economic and social development of the Dominican Republic, achieving greater progress, and opening a broader market for our products,” they added.
About 300 representatives from governments, business community, enterprises, media and diplomatic missions in the two countries attended the opening ceremony. Afterwards, the China-Dominican Republic business match-making was held.
