Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy Luigi Di Maio,Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Szijjarto, and Christopher Pissarides, holder of the Nobel Prize in Economics and professor at the London School of Economics and Political Science addressed the session.
The guest speakers have echoed Chinese president Xi Jinping’s keynote speech at the opening ceremony of 2nd China International Import Expo, hailed the new measures China has taken to promote opening up at a higher level and applauded the essential role that the e-commerce in the digital era can play in promoting fair and open trade. They said they will join hands with China in building an open, cooperative, innovative and sharing world economy.
The five parallel sessions were held simultaneously in the afternoon of November 5 with topics on "Opening-up, Regulation and Business Environment," "Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Development," "WTO Reform and Free Trade Agreements," "E-commerce in the Digital Era" and "China's 70-Year Development and the Building of a Community with a Shared Future for Humanity," respectively.
The second Hongqiao International Economic Forum, themed "Opening-up and Innovation for Win-win Cooperation", was hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and organized by the China International Import Expo Bureau and National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.
