CCPIT Vice Chairman Lu Pengqi met with Steven Marshall, Premier of South Australia in Beijing on October 22. The two sides exchanged views on China-Australia economic and trade relations, local economic and trade cooperation, Australia’s participation in the Belt and Road Initiative, and the cooperation between CCPIT and South Australia.
Lu Pengqi said, China and Australia are highly complementary in economy and trade and enjoy broad prospects for cooperation. CCPIT is willing to cooperate with South Australia to promote local economic and trade exchanges, and strengthen exchanges among enterprises in key industries.
“We hope South Australia could utilize the valuable opportunities brought by the BRI to enhance cooperation between China and Australia,” added Lu.
Steven Marshall thanked CCPIT for its work in promoting two-way investment and trade between Australia and China. He introduced the new strategy of South Australia’s trade and investment in China, and expressed his expectations in strengthening ties with CCPIT and jointly promoting the stable development of Australia-China economic and trade relations.
Also present at the forum were heads of CCPIT Department of Development Research, and Department of International Relations.
