B20 China Business Council Annual Meeting 2019 was held in Beijing on July 29. Gao Yan, Chairperson of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Zhang Shaogang, Director of Department of International Trade and Economic Affairs of China’s Ministry of Commerce, Xu Aibo, Inspector of Bureau of International Cooperation of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council attended and addressed the meeting.
Gao Yan noted, B20 China Business Council is a multilateral work mechanism initiated by CCPIT, aiming to build an important platform for the Chinese business community to participate in the organizing of B20. To further implement the concept of global governance, which is “Consultation, Contribution and Shared Benefits”, proposed by President Xi Jinping, the annual meeting announced the establishment of the Policy Committee under the Council.
This Committee will be more pragmatic, more proactive and more active in representing the Chinese business community on the world stage, and it will play a greater role in safeguarding multilateralism, promoting the reform of the global economic governance system and boosting global economic growth.
The Policy Committee is composed of 25 well-known Chinese enterprises, including 17 Chinese state-owned enterprises such as China Huadian Corporation, China National Machinery Industry Corporation (Sinomach) and China Resources (Holdings) Corporation, and 8 well-known private enterprises such as Lenovo Group, Mengniu Dairy Group and Jinko Solar Holding Corporation.
Xu Niansha, Chairman of China Poly Group, Wang Wenzhong, Vice President of China Railway Construction, and Qian Jing, Vice President of Jinko Solar Holding addressed the meeting.
Also at present were Wen Shugang, Chairman of China Huadian Corporation, Lu Weiping, Chairman of China Potevio Corporation, Liu Jiaqiang, General Manager of China National Chemical Engineering Group, and Ren Hongpeng, Vice President of China Railway Group.
More than 90 representatives from 52 enterprises attended the annual meeting.
