CCPIT Vice Chairman Chen Zhou met with Deputy Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism of Columbia Laura Valdivieso in Beijing on March 13. The two sides exchanged ideas on promoting trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Chen Zhou said, China-Columbia bilateral relations have been developing smoothly in recent years with increased practical cooperation in economy and trade. Chen noted, CCPIT has longstanding and close cooperation with Columbian government and counterpart departments including the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism. Chen also vowed to push forward the economic and trade ties between the two countries together with Columbian counterparts under the Belt and Road Initiative by taking full advantage of the platforms like China-LAC Business Summit and the Business Forum of the Annual Meeting of Inter-American Development Bank, etc.
Valdivieso said, China is Columbia’s second largest trading partner and 2018 witnessed dramatic increase of Columbian exports to China. She also expressed the hope to export more Columbian quality products to the Chinese market and promised to continue cooperation with CCPIT to facilitate exchanges between the companies of both countries.
