China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Chairman Jiang Zengwei met with President of Ukraine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCI) Gennadiy Chyzhykov at Kiev, capital of Ukraine, on July 5. The two sides signed a MoU on jointly promoting the construction of the Silk Road Business Council. The two sides exchanged views on deepening mechanism cooperation under the new stage and carrying out the practical cooperation.
Jiang Zengwei noted, China and Ukraine have different natural endowments and various development potentials. With the joint efforts of the leaders of both countries, Sino- Ukraine relations and its trade ties are going well, and the two countries contributed more in the regional economy. UCCI is a significant partner for CCPIT, and the signing of the MoU showed the determination of both sides in expanding and strengthening the cooperation under the new stage.
“CCPIT is willing to join hands with UCCI to make use of new mechanisms and platforms to strengthen planning and to organize more trade and investment promotion events, contributing more to boosting bilateral business ties,” added Jiang.
Jiang made three proposals on strengthening Sino-Ukrainian economic and trade cooperation. First, both sides shall actively organize exchange visits of business delegations. Second, information exchange on markets and commodities shall be strengthened. Last but not least, both countries shall foster policy matching and commercial legal cooperation.
Gennadiy said, there are broad prospects for Sino-Ukrainian economic and trade cooperation. He expects the two sides take the signing of the MOU as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation in information exchange, trade and investment, commercial legal services, training sessions and other fields. Under the framework of Belt and Road Initiative, the two sides will continue to deepen the mechanism cooperation to boost economic and trade ties through business delegation exchange visits, seminars and other promotion fairs.
